Help! I'm new to Linux!

Hey guys!

I've been experimenting a little with Knoppix (live CD), and I'm to the point where I'm ready for more.

I want to install something that can run directly from my Harddrive rather than the CD, but everywhere that I go to download the ISO installation CD images, the server doesn't respond!

Does anybody know of a good place to download a good version of Linux? Thanks!

Hi Jonathan - I haven't used Linux myself, but I did read a good article on Linux here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux. At the end of the article, there are a lot of links to Linux sites. I don't know enough to recommend any of them, but if you haven't looked through those sites, it might be helpful.

Hey Jonathan,

I'm Jonathon Hill :)

My sister happened across your post here after looking at your family's blog and pointed it out to me.

Linux is a big hobby of mine, probably more than a hobby now seeing as I have abandoned Windows XP in favor of Linux! It started off as an experiment...

Anyway, if you're still interested, I would love to discuss it further and show you what I've done. You can e-mail me at jonathon at compwright dot com.
